My name is Regan, I’m raising funds for Hiam and her son Nihad in order to afford the basic necessities of life.

Hiam, 63, has suffered from a motor disability caused by polio since her childhood. She also suffers from lower back issues. Nihad, 38 survived imprisonment and torture.

“Hiam has been separated from her husband for more than 30 years. She suffered a lot in her life for the sake of her children until they grew up and settled down. Her house was completely bombed and she is now suffering and living in a tent and needs urgent health care and support.

Nihad is the eldest brother who is married but has not been blessed with children because he has health problems and needs treatment and travel with his wife for the transplant. Nihad, 38 years old, was arrested during the war by the occupation forces and was severely tortured, imprisoned and starved. He was released from detention in the midst of freedom and suffering. There was no proper healthcare. All of this affected his personal life and his future.

Hiam and her son Nihad’s village was completely destroyed by the occupation, leaving them with nothing but a tent in the Deir al-Balah area, amidst the displacement camps. Hiam, the struggling mother, is educated and holds an academic certificate in high school. Nihad graduated from the UNRWA headquarters with a diploma in computer programming. Their life was stable before the war, but after the war everything was destroyed.”
